Stunning Podium For Minister-Power at V de V Opener!

Donington Park 13 April 2008

Minister-Power and Piranha Racing achieved a memorable podium place in the opening round of the V de V UK championship. Chris Bialan and Graham Fennymore, in their first season of
V de V racing drove brilliantly to achieve second position. They were within seven laps of going one place better and winning the three hour race but a brake glitch and red flagged race thwarted their valiant effort after leading much of the last hour.

A Minister tuned Honda FD2 engine, developed during the winter, is fitted to the Piranha team’s cars and marks our debut into this class of sports car racing.

The Ginetta GT4 Success Story Rolls On

Knockhill, Scotland.12/13 April 2008

Rounds 3 and 4 of the Avon Tyres British GT championship saw continued dominance of the GT4 class by the Ginetta G50.

Seven cars were entered which resulted in a class win for the IMS Motorsport duo of Matt Nicoll-Jones/Stewart Linn in round 4 and Hunter Abbott/Rob Austin in round 3.

For more info about the Ford V6 engine that powers the Ginetta G50 click here.

History is made at spectacular Oulton Park British GT meeting.

The first ever Ginetta G50 Cup race at Oulton Park took place recently, as part of the SRO British F3GT meeting. The strong grid of V6 powered cars provided some close racing, with Nigel Moore winning both races, and Clive Richards establishing the new Lap record for the cars at Oulton Park.

The sight and sound of a grid full of these cars received much acclaim, and fitted well into the prestigious event.

The GT4 class in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship also saw success for the G50, with a resounding 1,2,3 in the class for Round 1 and a 1,2 in Round 2.

The next round of the G50 cup will be at Cadwell Park 5 - 6 April, where more challenges will be met and even moore(!) close racing will take place.

"The Dog Of The Hell"

After building a new performance engine and car for a customer we received the
following E-mail message from him:

" Hallo Graham,

I like to give a great THANK YOU VERY MUCH to you, as well as Andrew and your company you did a great job. The car is the dog of the hell, it absolutely fantastic, the speed is similar to the supercup porsches (on the long straight called Parabolica in Hockenheim) which I constantly killed last weekend in Hockenheim. The balance, the brakes, the engine performance and reliability .... brilliant. After a few laps drive in for brakes etc. I got the car exactly 1 hours under race speed on the Hockenheim track . All I can say ....perfect.

Many thanks again, keep in touch,"

Another satisfied customer!

Successful Ginetta G50 Shakedown at Mallory Park

Ginetta Cars held two days testing for their customers at Mallory Park recently. Several of the Ginetta G50 competitors took the opportunity to shake down their new machines.

On a bitterly cold day the multicoloured mini grid looked very impressive, with the drivers reporting a very positive and enjoyable first outing.

EEMS CAMPAIGN PARTNER MINISTER-POWER CONTINUED THEIR  SUCCESS IN FORMULA WOMAN
USING BIO-ETHANOL FUEL

Minister-Power are members of EEMS Partnership Campaign

The first two meetings of the Formula Woman Series, run by Hyperion Motorsport have recently taken place at Pembury, in Wales and Snetterton in Norfolk. The Series uses Caterham Roadsport cars powered by Rover K series 1600cc engines run on BIO- ethanol E85 fuel, which is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% petrol.

The cars engines have been tested by Minister-Power to enable them to use the Bio-fuel as part of an on going programme, to achieve practical experience of using sustainable, clean fuels in National and Club Motorsport. The racing has been the highly entertaining spectacle which has become expected from these iconic two seater sports cars. All the fifteen modified Rover K engines ran reliably during the four races with no engine related retirements!

The practical lessons Minister-Power are learning using Bio-ethanol regarding fuel cells, seals, fuel pumps, injectors, valves etc. is proving invaluable to customers in other categories who are looking to convert their race cars over.

Formula Woman is exclusively for female racing drivers and is the first UK single-make race series running on BIO-ethanol. The Series is led by Sheena Woolhouse, who has won three of the four races, the last by only 1.5 seconds from Jennifer Garrett.

Race Win For Bio-Fuel Powered Caterham Roadsport
At The Caterham Golden Jubilee Meeting

Vicky Lloyd driving a Hyperion Motorsport prepared car, and with a Rover K series engine, running on E85 Bio fuel won the Formula Woman class and achieved fastest lap at the Caterham Donington Park circuit.  She was racing in the Formula Woman/French Caterham race, where she was up against a wide variety of drivers in similar but petrol fuelled cars.

This is another achievement for the Bio fuelled car which was modified and tested by Minister-Power.

Energy Efficient Motorsport

Minister-Power  have Dyno run a 2.0 litre Duratec I4 engine on Bio fuel and it gives increased performance.  At the flick of a switch it can also run on petrol alone.  For further information about this engine, and running your car on E85, contact Minister-Power on 01634 682577, or by Email at info@minister-power.com.
