Minister-Power was established in 1974 by former racing driver David Minister, and was joined by Graham Fuller in 1976. Having competed successfully in the UK and Europe, using his self-tuned engines, David decided to stop driving and build engines for others. In the following years countless races and championships were won using
Minister-Power engines.
Winners of those championships and races were to be future motorsport legends, including Ayrton Senna, Roberto Moreno, Nigel Mansell, Mika Hakkinen, Derek Warwick, and Pedro de la Rosa (for further list click here). |
With increasing success the company moved from a humble, pre-fab in Dartford, Kent to a new factory unit in Lordswood, Kent. This enabled the company to incorporate total race car preparation as a result of customer requests for a complete quality, preparation service.
I n the early 90's Minister-Power achieved stunning success assisting the FE de A in creating the Racing for Spain programme, supported amongst others by Marlboro. The programme was created to nurture young Spanish drivers through the early stages of their career to reach international level.
The programme was very successful and current McLaren F1 Test Driver Pedro de la Rosa was a Formula Ford and double Formula Renault Champion with Minister-Power. |

Other drivers in the programme also went on to international careers, in GT, Touring Car, Sports Car, World Series racing.
Minister-Power has prepared cars for a variety of customers, who demand quality and success, in both single seater and sports car categories, including 2006 Caterham Eurocup Champions – Ben de Zille Butler.
